Are you listening to God?

This is just a really quick post, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

God has a way of telling you something. Here's an example: Maybe your job or school has you working around the clock, all of a sudden, you start feeling sick. You feeling sick could possibly be God's way of telling you to slow down, take time for yourself, get your priorities in check, and take care of yourself.

God has his own special way of relaying information to us. If there is something God wants you to know, He will make sure He finds a way to tell you. God will never put too much on you that you cannot handle. God may give you struggles in life because He knows you will find a way to handle it or to make you stronger. God has made me stronger and opened my eyes to let me see things in a new perspective.

If you do not know how God is communicating with you, pray about it. Ask God to show you all that He wants you to know. It might not come exactly when you want it, but God is always right on time.

"And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us." -1 John 5:14 ESV

"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understading, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God." -Proverbs 2:1-5 ESV

A Word to Anyone Feeling Down: God Has a Plan for YOU.

"For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time- to show us his grace through Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 1:9 NLT

Admit it, you have probably examined your life and wondered 'What is my purpose being here?' I have more times than I can remember. Sometimes it's hard to go through trials and tribulations. Sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have experienced this feeling, and I wanted to help you out if you happen to be feeling the same way.

Even though sometimes it's hard to see it, God has a plan for you. You might not know what His plan is for you, but He will reveal it in time. God did not create you to walk aimlessly in this world. He created you to spread His word and other things that only He knows. God knows everything about you- the way you smile on the outside when you're frowning on the inside, the way you've been hurt so many times that you don't want to let anyone else in, the way you can't abandon loneliness, the way you care you for others- and so much more. He knows this because He made you. You are HIS, and He is YOUR God. Trust in Him when you can't stand the pain anymore. Trust in Him when you don't know which way is right or which way is wrong. Trust in Him when no one seems to understand you. Trust Him when you're feeling alone. Because YOU ARE NOT ALONE. He's always with you. Sometimes, He makes you go through what seems like unbearable circumstances because He wants you to get closer to Him. He wants you to trust Him. He wants you to believe that He will not EVER fail you when everyone else seems to.

Get closer to Him and seek YOUR God.

He never gives up on you.

And He will always love you, even when it seems like no one else does.

PRAY. TRUST. LOVE.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Happy Thanksgiving!

Psalm 95:1-6
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker." (NKJV)
I just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving holiday! I am so thankful that I have the Lord to praise for waking me up on this beautiful holiday morning! (:

Christianity Questions: Why Should I Get Baptized?

For right now, I am still answering kind of basic Christianity questions that people may have. If you have one, let me know.

 What is baptism?

Baptism is a symbolism of Christ's death and resurrection. By you being baptized, it means that your old sinful life is dead and you are now embarking on your new Christian lifestyle.

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Roman 6:11 New King James Version

What comes first: being saved or baptized?

You should be saved first. Being saved basically means that you've accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior. He "saved" you from the harmful path of life you were traveling. You are baptized because you are saved not because you need to saved.

What are the requirements for baptism?

I was thought in Bible Study that baptisms require three things.
      1. a saved person who is genuinely ready to be baptized
      2. a church of the Lord Jesus Christ
      3. immersion under water

Was Jesus baptized?

Yes, He was.

"And Jesus, when he was baptized, went straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened up to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him"
Matthew 3:16 New King James Version

Have you been baptized?

Yes, I have been. August 19,2012. <3
What was the baptism experience like for you?

At my church, we had church service as usual because my baptism was scheduled for after church. The choir sang a selection. My pastor talked about the promises I would be making by being baptized. It talked about the symbolism of baptism. He then asked me if I was ready to make this journey. I said yes. He then baptized me in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I went underwater and came back up as a new person.

What did you wear to your baptism?

This is a question that I personally asked about before my baptism. My church told me to wear something white. I wore a white v neck and white shorts. Pretty simple.

Do you ever regret being baptized?

No, I never have regretted it. It is one of the BEST decisions I have made in my entire life. The first one being accepting Jesus Christ as my savior.
How old were you when you got baptized?

I was 16 years old.
What made you know that you were ready to be baptized?

I knew I was ready because I fully trusted in the Lord. He brought me out of some tough times that I didn't think I would make it out of. I am forever grateful for that, and I feel like I owe Him so much for that. And what better way to repay Him, then living my life for Him and making a few disciples along the way.  I know some of you are probably thinking: 'You're 16. What tough times have you been through?'. I think everyone should live by the picture below though.

I hope I answered some of your questions and helped you out!

LOVE YOU GUYS.

Take Care and God Bless.

Why should I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior?

I was thinking about what to write about on this blog today, then I figured I should answer some general questions about Christianity, faith, acceptance, repentance, baptism, etc. Today's question is 'Why should I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior?'.

I don't know about you but I have had people stab me in the back, take advantage of me, use me, hurt me, abandon me, and the list goes on... I wanted someone to talk to, but as some of you might know, people come and go... And some people might never get what you're trying to say. I tried talking to people, and eventually, I lost hope... I needed someone to be my rock. Someone that would constantly be there for me. Someone who would always get what I was going through. Someone I could say exactly what I was feeling around. I soon found out that someone was Jesus Christ.

"And ye shall seek ME, and find ME, when ye shall search for ME with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:13 New King James Version

I came to know Him. I found Him. I was hurt emotionally (and spiritually). I opened up my heart to Him. I heard about His amazing works. I heard His glory sang through worship songs. I learned more about Him. I read more about Him. He found my heart. He has been there ever since. Some nights, I cry pouring my heart out to Him. I know He hears me. He comforts me and makes me feel better. Suddenly, that empty hole of needing someone was filled. Jesus filled my soul, and He fueled my soul. He helped me be happier. He has also taught me so many things. I am so much better than the person I used to be, but I know that I am not done growing yet. I'm stronger than I used to be. I'm wiser than I used to be. I recently heard the song "Never Would've Made It" by Marvin Sapp. That's part of my story. That song somewhat depicts my spiritual evolution. Of course, there's more to it: my testimony. I will share my testimony with you guys eventually. I don't know what day that will be, but I know it will be one day where the Lord has put it on my heart to share.

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land."
Genesis 28:15 New International Version

Aren't those some comforting words? (:

I love you guys.

And I hope I helped!

God Bless and Take Care. <3

Why I Started This Blog

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

Once you accept Christ as your personal savior, your job is to go spread the word and make more disciples. I am hoping that this blog will one day reach hundreds or thousands of people and make an impact on their life. I blog about makeup and beauty on my other blog: adriaunadanielle.blogspot.com. My goal with that blog was to share what I know about makeup and beauty with people around the world. Now I've decided to do the same thing with this blog for my Savior.

Let me know if you have any questions!
